As many of you know, owning a website and having it copyrighted can help you greatly in dealing with stolen content or suing other sites for stealing your ideas without your permission. I have seen this all over the internet where one website steals 90% of its content from other websites around the net and posting it on his one site. It is very bad and very unprofessional and I will not list the site because it was not my content he stole. But this was just an example of something that can force you to get a lawyer. You can visit an attorney directory on the internet or in the newspaper and look for an attorney if you have to go that far.

Attorneys are a great source of advice and fighting power. Don’t always think that you can win the court battle yourself because there is less than a 50% chance that you will argue the right thing. And know this, the other side may have an attorney for himself so it is always good to be prepared. Now regarding the website content, you can have your site copyrighted very easily, it shouldn’t cost too much and sometimes you can even get it done for free. Also it is a good idea to post something like, “Please do not use our idea without our permission” anywhere on your site and since it is on the internet and it is public, you can use that against your opponent in your court case.

I am practicing to be a lawyer right now and I have taken and given advice to people regarding issues like this and other. Never think that you are the best at everything. It doesn’t always work out. Just remember to protect what is yours and don’t steal from others.
