Does Extension Matter?

Well many people ask around if the extension of a domain matters. Well all I have to say is how you look at it. If you believe that a .com domain has double the worth of a .net domain then you are most likely to go buy a .com over a .net domain and maybe even pay more if you are buying from the owner of the domain directly. But to me, they are all the same, just depends on how well a person develops the domain.

A person can have a domain and not even work on it for 3 years but keep on renewing and to some, that domain without a PageRank or any traffic coming in is worthless and to some, that three years age will make them bid $40 or even $50 just for the age. Today the oldest domains in the world are just over 20 years old so even a 3 year old domain has a lot of value. Extension should not really matter whether it’s a .com, .net, .org, .info, .us, .biz, .co.uk, .com.au, or any other extention in the world, I always think you should look at how well the domain is developed and of course, keywords in the domain.
