Remind Yourself
This was a tactic used to remember notes, vocabulary words, and just basic things in a book that was taught to me by my Advance Placement English teacher when I was a senior in High School. I have used the technique a bit but never really got used to it but maybe you can. It has to do with post it notes and it works great when reading long and complicated novels, especially ones you don’t want to read.
Imagine reading a book and then suddenly you find something interesting, you take a post it note, note it for yourself and just paste it on that page for future reference. If its a book with long pages, you can write down the paragraph and line number. I have had classmates say that they have used this method a whole lot while reading books such as the Great Gatsby and Hamlet. Good luck in english class, hope you can use this little trick to keep note of what’s happening.
