Don’t Let Your Laptop Die
When I got my first laptop about 4 or 5 years ago, I was reading the manual and it had some pretty interesting things in there. It was a Toshiba and I don’t remember the exact model number but it was great. Intel Celeron 1.3 Ghz Processor with 512 mb RAM, 60 GB hard drive space, and a huge 17.4 inch wide screen display. Was my favorite piece of technology back then. Well back to the manual. I have read that in order to keep your laptop from dying too early, whether it’s the whole hardware or just the battery dying, you should let the battery die out once in a while. Let the battery go down to 0% and then charge the whole battery again. It can increase your laptop’s battery life.
So I do that a few times, maybe just Once a month and what do you know, it was completely wrong. My battery life used to be around 2 to 3 hours at times. The more I let it die out by itself, the lower the battery life meter became. At the end it became just 30 minutes. Yes just 30 minutes. It was pretty annoying since you can’t get much done in 30 minutes of work. I had the whole battery exchanged and I decided to try again. This time I didn’t let it die out and charged as soon as the battery meter hit 30% or lower. And from that the battery always lasted at least an hour or two before going down to even 30%. The manual isn’t always right, the point of this post right here.
