I am sure you have seen some URL shortening websites out there. One of the most famous is called tinyURL and it is one that is used by many people around the internet, including myself at times. So what does a URL shortener do? Shortens your URL duh..But lets say you have a URL that’s 55 characters long, if you post that on a forum post, it will look HUGE and it may even stretch the screen which is never relaly attractive.

An URL Shortener will turn that 55 characters into a mere 10 or even 15 character long link. Either way, they will both take you to the same place, one just looks prettier than the other one. URL Shorteners are very useful when it comes to preserving character spaces where it is limited such as a person’s forum signature. Just another internet tool many of you can use to surf through and share information a bit easier.
