One of the things I love about vBulletin is that you can use previous vB theme versions with the latest vbulletin version without too much of a problem. If anyone has updated the theme to work with the latest vB version, the admin panel will guide you to update the theme properly. I have done that for a few themes and it was easy.

I installed a new vbulletin theme for my Gamers Forum yesterday and it was originally made for vb version 3.6.0 and I am using vb version 3.6.8. It has guided me to update about 19 template files manually. Unfortunately there is no way to do it automatically so I had no other choice. But I am glad to have it done and I am already working on another theme install that needs the same type of update.
