If you don’t already know but on February 17th, 2009, all television channels will be converted to transmitting in digital format instead of the usual analog. If you have an old television that is not capable of converting digital into analog then you will need a digital converter.

The government is working with some companies to get you a cheap digital converter if you don’t have one already. But if you have cable from lets say Cablevision or Time Warner Cable then you should be fine because they only transmit in a digital format.

Be careful next year and don’t be surprised if you can no longer watch television with your old television.
