Password Protect Directories

If you have a site with an administrator panel, you should ALWAYS have it password protected. If it asks you to re-enter your password whenever you go in and the cms is doing that for you, well that isn’t what I am exactly talking about. Well this will require a new username and a new password so you can login twice using two different usernames and 2 different passwords. It will make it much tougher for anyone to even think about getting access to your site through the admin panel.

If your host uses cpanel then you are in luck because in my opinion, it has the easiest way to set a password protection on your directories. Just login to your account and click password protect directories. Then just go to the directory you want to set a password to and click it. Then go to the bottom and enter a username and password and add it onto the list so it can login. Remember not to password protect the WHOLE directory but the place that has an admin panel. Good luck protecting your site.
